Note that the ";" represents the "sexagesimal point". That is, anything after this symbol represents the 60ths, 3600ths, etc.
Five pairs of numbers that multiply to forty-five:
4 11;15 (4 * 11.25)
3,0 0;15 (180 * 0.25)
50,0 0;54 (50 * 0.9)
7;30 6 (7.5 * 6)
0;36 1,15 (0.6* 75)
Good work, and good, concise explanations of your thinking, Marius! I'm just not quite convinced of the first one in the list. I don't think you'd have a fraction (base 60) of 60! Can you re-think this one and correct it?
ReplyDeletePlease do have another look at the first one on the list, and let me know how you would correct it!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I've corrected it!
ReplyDeleteThere's a problem with the way you've written the third one now: following the notation you've used throughout, 50,0 --> 50x60 = 3000. You'd need to drop the comma and the zero. But generally, you've had fun with some cool fractions, so good work overall.
